How to use the search functions to find volunteering opportunities

Our platform makes it easy to find volunteering opportunities that match your interests. You can search in several ways:

Option 1: Search by Postcode and/or Keyword

  1. Enter your postcode in the search bar. Click search for a postcode only search.
  2. Optionally you can add a keyword related to the type of volunteering you’re interested in (e.g., “admin,” “fundraising,” “wildlife”).
  3. Click Search to see opportunities near your location that match your keyword.

Option 2: Search by Volunteering Type and Keyword

  1. If you don’t want to enter a postcode, you can browse by type of volunteering opportunity:
    • Click on one of the buttons:
Remote, In Person, or Remote & In Person.
  2. After selecting the type, enter a keyword to narrow down the results.
  3. Click Search to see opportunities that fit your criteria.

Option 3: Use Filters and Sort for Advanced Search

Once you’ve selected an opportunity type (Remote, In Person, or Remote & In Person), you can refine your search using Filters and Sort:

  • Radius from postcode – Set how far you’re willing to travel.
  • Specific charity – Search for opportunities from a particular charity.
  • Age requirements – Filter roles based on minimum age criteria.
  • Category – Choose from categories such as Animal Welfare, Community and Neighbourhood, Health and Wellbeing, and more.

These filters help you find opportunities that match your preferences.
