Managing volunteer applications in GoVo

GoVo gives you two ways to receive and manage volunteer applications - via email or via a URL you provided (e.g. an existing volunteer application form on your website). Here’s how each works 👇

Applications via URL
 
  • When a volunteer clicks Apply on your opportunity, they will be redirected to your provided URL to complete their application
  • You will be able to see a list of volunteers who have clicked Apply by heading to your GoVo Dashboard – Applications, you can click the ‘Download Applications’ button to view the volunteer details in a spreadsheet
  • At the request of our charity partners, you won’t receive email notifications for applications made via your URL
  • In a future update, you’ll be able to turn off the accept/reject step in your dashboard and manage volunteers entirely through your own internal process
 
 
Applications via Email
 
  • When a volunteer clicks Apply on your opportunity, you’ll receive an email notification letting you know there’s a new application to review
  • In your GoVo Dashboard – Applications, you’ll then need to accept or reject the application
  • To accept or reject applications you will need to click on the 'Move to' drop down box next to an application and select accept or reject
  • When you accept or reject an application, GoVo automatically emails the volunteer to confirm whether you’ll be in touch to progress their application
  • We ask you to accept or reject within 5 days, please note this is not considered to be your final decision but indicates to the volunteer whether you will be progressing with their application and making contact
  • To download your applications click on the 'Download applications' button. You can then view your applications including contact details for the volunteers in a spreadsheet

What do the different status' mean?

Created - The Volunteer has clicked on the link to go apply externally (URL application) , but hasn't confirmed that they did apply, they may still have applied via your weblink.
Pending - The Volunteer applied on GoVo (email application) or they have confirmed they applied after coming back from the external site (URL application).
Accepted - The charity accepted the match.
Rejected - The charity rejected the match.
Withdrawn - The volunteer has withdrawn their application.
